Welcome to issue 4 of bluetyger

Dr. Norman Bethune was born and raised in Gravenhurst, Ontario. The family home, the old church manse is a National Historic site. A very full life stopped short. Surgeon, humanitarian, artist, revolutionary. Tuberculosis sufferer. Participant in the Civil War in Spain 1937. Hero of the Communist Party in China.

The Wye Marsh photo album is from a recent walk there.

Arthur Fellig was Weegee the Great - photographer of New York City in the 1930s and 1940s.

The Black Cat Walks Down is an online presentation of a poetry chapbook published by Alburnum Press in 1996. See the poem "Dutchie goes down the road" for a look at the effects of war on childhood (The Netherlands 1944-45) and later on the working life (1974 on the Athabasca Tar Sands).

Landscapes an album of photos and soft paintings.

2x Golden 4 is the next installment in the ongoing saga of Diamond and Shakespeare.

The photo above was taken at the Wye Marsh outside of Midland, Ontario. Camera: Canon Powershot G1 on tripod. Image: taken in BW, manipulated in Adobe Photoshop, ink outlines filter applied to full size image, which was then reduced and saved for the web with a low setting.
