A 90 minute round trip kayak paddle to Methodist Island revealed to me this rocks and weeds high spot just short of the island.
The roosting platform stand put up for some kind of bird of prey. I didn't get too close because a bird was on the nest and I didn't feel like I had the right or the hard hat to stress them.
Behind this spot were several roscks just above the waterline and on these a flock of cormorants hung out. But they really did not like my approach and took off well out of camera range.
