Light
Time to move with the morning now,
sweet whistling draws. The window —
a film of blue, a shining dark
which wakes the soul to prayer and work,
steps and dreams. So the woods there,
and the quiet pond, duck lovely, turtle-deep, tears
at me to leave, make my rounds—
as if life must open them to heal wounds.
